Crown Tourney

The Crown Tourney format is a BattleTech ‘Classic’ tournament format, devised by Mike Whitaker, based on the Southern Assault Classic format (courtesy of the MechBay podcast folks).

It’s a 6000BV (Succession War), 7000BV (CI, CW, Star League), 8000BV (Jihad and beyond) format, restricted to 3-6 Mech’s only. Era is at the TO’s discretion, and missions are chosen from a playtested list.

Currently, it uses the BattleMech Manual rules (plus some optional rules) but (subject to availability in the UK) will be moving to the Core Rules from 2027. The current non-event specific player and mission packs are available for download from Dropbox.

Seasons run from after UKGE to the finale at UKGE the following year. If you are interested in running a tournament, please see the CT TO’s Guide page.
